White Barrow is a burial mound constructed of Dartmoor Granite stones Underneath the stones will be a burial chamber or Kistvaen. Unfortunately - many of these cairns have been pillaged for potential Grave goods sometimes found buried with the occupants by the past Landowners of Dartmoor.
This Barrow lies on the Lich Way - The way of the dead - an ancient route between Lydford and Widecombe used by occupants of the Moor to carry their dead for burial at Lydford Church. This was prior to Widecombe becoming it's own parish.
