"In the middle of the square stands a sculpted fountain called La Vivrière, which depicts a figurehead holding in her arms foods from every continent, symbolizing the generosity, abundance and fertility of the Earth. The base of the monument indicates that the bank of the St. Lawrence River once reached this spot. The form and colours of the paving stones here evoke waves."
