Austin Log Cabin National Historical Landmark
The Austin Log Cabin, owned first by Judge Calvin Austin in the early 1800's, was hidden
under a normal looking house for many many years until it was discovered when
some remodeling was attempted in the '70s. It was purchased and restored by the
Austintown Historical Society. The namesake of Austintown Ohio, this historical
landmark is open for tours on the first Sunday of every month from 1-4 and by
appointment other times. The public is welcome to tour the grounds and see the
sights anytime.
This cabin is purportedly haunted by a headless soldier who has been seen
walking the streets and milling around inside the cabin. There have also been
