In the beautiful Stadspark there are several fountains. One of them is this Vändkorsfågel.
A turnstile (Vändkors) is often used in animal enclosures where people can pass through, but animals cannot. They can also be seen at, for example, Metro stations, where you can walk through, but only one way. This has been the inspiration for the fountain.
Originally, the Vändkorsfågel was able to turn around, but has later been locked. On top of the turnstile is the head of a bird, hence the name Vändkorsfågel. (Turnstile Bird)
The fountain is made of bronze and is at the top of a stone column. It was placed in the park in 1974 and was made by the Swedish artist Lars Spaak
