DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1975 (JCL) THE STATION IS THE APEX OF VENT TOP CENTER OF THE THOMSON EAST MUNICIPAL WATER TANK. THE TANK HAS A CYLINDRICAL BODY WITH A DOME TOP AND HEMISPHERICAL BOTTOM, SUPPORTED BY FOUR TUBULAR LEGS. IT IS SILVER IN COLOR AND APPROXIMATELY 120 FEET HIGH. LOCATED ABOUT 1.1 MILE EAST OF THE CENTER OF THOMSON AND 100 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 78 AND STATE HIGHWAY 12.
