This sign at the entrance to the Rotary Park playground is in English, French, German, and Japanese, reflecting the international draw of Banff.
Established by the Rotary Club of Banff in 1978, this playground has been regularly updated since then. Fundraising led by the Rotary Club is intended to lead to new playground equipment and additional facilities by the end of 2024.
The current playground (2023) was built in 1992 and refurbished in 2005. It is recommended for children aged 2 to 5, and has a pea gravel surface, slides, swings, and a climbing structure. There is parking next to the playground on Cougar Street.
The Rotary Club began fundraising in 2021 to update the playground once more, and make it more inclusive. A combination sport court (pickleball, basketball, tennis) & outdoor ice rink is also planned.
The Rotary Club of Banff was established in 1924.
