"The Diocesan Library of Córdoba is a privately owned library for public use, integrated into the "San Eulogio" Foundation, dependent on the Bishopric of Córdoba. Created in 1999 with the aim of becoming a bibliographic and documentary center at the service of the Diocese of Córdoba, and all students and researchers who want to make use of its valuable funds and enjoy its services.
It was born with the specific mission of becoming a support service for teaching, study and research, both in the academic centers of the Diocese and the University and other educational institutions. It aims to preserve and disseminate the diocesan bibliographic heritage by collaborating in the pastoral presence of the Church in the field of culture and intensifying the dialogue between faith and culture in today's society.
This purpose is realized in the promotion of Christian culture in all its aspects, but particularly in the fields of the Humanities, civil and ecclesiastical history, Philosophy, Theology, Canon Law, Social Doctrine of the Church and the study of the Arab, Christian and Muslim world, including interreligious dialogue with Islam, within the horizon of the mission of the Church. Particular attention deserves Saint John of Ávila, doctor of the universal Church, clericus cordubensis, and the study of his figure, doctrine, spirituality and pastoral style."
