Queen Adelaide is holding some roses in this life size depiction of her. Queen Adelaide was born Adelheid Louise Therese Karoline Amalie, the eldest child of Georg I, Duke of Sax Meininger. Married in 1818 to William Henry Duke of Clarence and St Andrew’s. He later became King William the IV hence becoming Queen Consort.
Queen Adelaide was well known for her tireless commitment to civic work.
This statue was unveiled on 31st October, 2022.
