These two Confederate bronze 6-Pounders are on display at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial in downtown Hutchinson. The two cannon have been on display since the memorial was constructed in 1918. The guns were nearly lost to a WWII-era scrap metal drive but were saved by the Lady's Auxiliary. They were later secured into their current positions on iron carriages to prevent theft. The two guns are currently valued at $100,000 each.
This web site gives some information on these guns, and even cites a source (also given below).
One of these cannnon was manufactured by Quinby and Robinson, also known as Western Foundry, in Memphis, Tennessee, which produced thirteen 6-pounder guns by June 1862. All but one of them were bronze. One of these Hutchinson guns is the first of these to be found, and is said to resemble a Federal Model of 1841.
The second is by A. B. Reading and Brother of Vicksburg, Mississippi, which cast 35 and completed 32 bronze 6-pounder guns similar to the Federal Model 1841. One of the Hutchinson cannons is one of four of these that has been positively identified.
