Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk was the first president of Czechoslovakia, following the dismembering of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by the end of the First World War. He is still considered the father of the nation.
This statue cab ne seen in the center of Karlovy Vary - formerly known as Carslbad - a famous spa town, included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The statue is slightly bigger than real size, showing the President with his usual clothes - characteristic from the first half of the 20th Century - with a touch of caricature in the design. It's made of bronze and stands in a plinth.
