"De estilo neoclasicista, perteneciente a la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. El 15 de noviembre de 1867, se otorgó escritura de fundación de este colegio en las casas que para ello había adquirido en la calle Ancha, Dª Clara Cortés Jurado. Aceptada la fundación por la M. General de la Orden, se tomó posesión del edificio el 22 de marzo de 1871.

Algunos años más tarde, en 1885 se finalizó la obra de la iglesia que fue inaugurada solemnemente el 26 de diciembre de dicho año. A principios del siglo presente la fundación escolapia lucentina se trasladó a Cabra donde subsiste, encomendándose el colegio a la Congregación de MM. Felipenses.
Acutalmente se encuentra en Calle Ancha, a unos cuantos metros de la Iglesia de Santiago.
La fachada de este templo es de una gran sobriedad e interiormente es un templo de sentido longitudinal."
