"Esta ermita fue construida en 1718 siguiendo las trazas de Leonardo Antonio de Castro bajo el patrocinio de la familia Bruna y Ahumada, cuyos blasones campean en las pechinas de su cúpula interior. La iglesia de nave única dividida en cinco tramos y con cúpula en el antepresbiterio, presenta también una severa fachada de sillares de piedra y ladrillo, culminada con frontón y espadaña. El retablo mayor, muestra las influencias de Leonardo Antonio de Castro y fue realizado por Francisco José Guerrero en el año 1762. Destacan también su magnífico conjunto de pinturas murales a base de motivos fitomórficos y un lienzo votivo de la Anunciación, obra también de Leonardo Antonio de Castro. En cuanto a la imaginería destacan el grupo escultórico del Sagrado Lavatorio, de Pedro de Mena, y la imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Estrella, obra de José Verdiguier."
