Steve Tobin is known mostly for his Steel Roots sculptures and his studio is in nearby Quakertown, PA. This new sculpture was donated by Steve to Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA.

As is the case with many of his sculptures, this is made of steel (probably carbon steel) and is to simulate adobe oven in a traditional beehive shape. It is hollow, so you can get inside - the university placed a small table and chairs inside.

According to the University's facebook page:

"Need a new place to decompress and see campus from a new point of view? Check out Adobe! Artist Steve Tobin gifted Adobe to Moravian, and a dedication ceremony was held on South Campus last week. Tobin specifically chose Adobe for our campus because he says Moravian is where minds are being shaped and perspective is ever-changing and evolving."

The sculpture was created in 2018, and dedicated in 2023. Here are some photos from the dedication ceremony (caution, they may be ephemeral):
