Taken from the website, "The Vancouver Aids Memorial is a memorial to those in Vancouver who died from AIDS.
The monument has the names of thoses who died from AIDS right in the metal panes of the memorial. It is intended that the metal will slowly rust away.
There are some large stones on which you can sit to reflect on those lost to the AIDS epidemic.
Many people put flowers in to names and spaces in the memorial to remember loved ones.
The memorial is in a tranquil spot overlooking English Bay.
There is another AIDS memorial in Vancouver that predated this one. It was a planted tree that was kept secret until recently because of the stigma around AIDS. It is the first known AIDS memorial.
This other AIDS memorial is just off of the Coal Harbour Seawall about 100 meters from the end of Coal Harbour in the little section of grass. It now has a plaque to memorize it."
