Rafiki is a mandrill featured in the Lion King films. He is a mandrill who is shown to be wise and says things like "Yes, the past can hurt but, the way I see it you can either run from it, or learn from it." He is the one who holds up lion cubs during their presentation ceremonies at Pride Rock.

In the northern section of Animal Kingdom is an area called Rafiki's Planet Watch, which can only be reached by a short train ride on the Wildlife Express. Here, visitors can pet animals in the Affection Section, learn to draw animals during a free class, and learn about humans' impact on the environment. There are also exhibits on the vets who work at Animal Kingdom and the way they care for the animals here. Sometimes there are even procedures performed in exam rooms with windows for public viewing.
