This statue of two Looney Tunes cartoon characters has stood in front of a barn in Buckingham, Florida for over 25 years and has become a local landmark for giving driving directions to travelers.
Foghorn Leghorn is a cartoon rooster who appears in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons and films from Warner Bros. Animation. He was create by Robert McKimson, and starred in 29 cartoons from 1946 to 1964 during the Golden Age of American Cartoon Animation. All 29 cartoons were directed by McKimson.
Foghorn Leghorn's first appearance was in the 1946 Henery Hawk short 'Walky Talky Hawky.' Foghorn's voice was created and originally performed by the famous Mel Blanc for many years and later by Jeff Bergman, Joe Alaskey, Greg Burson, Frank Gorshin, Jeff Bennett, Bill Farmer and Eric Bauza.
This statue is located on private property but is easily and clearly visible from Buckingham Road. Due to the high traffic volume of Buckingham Road and the narrow steep shoulder it is highly suggested that visitors park on School Lane or the cul-de-sac on Page Street just off of Homestead Road.
