This little library is located on the retaining wall outside Das Bährenhaus. It is a historic home that is available to rent out for events and overnight stays.

"This beautifully renovated 1840s home is located in the heart of historic Jim Thorpe on West Broadway Street. The oldest complete home in Jim Thorpe, Das Bärenhaus is a piece of pristinely-preserved history. Originally built as the parsonage for the reverend of the adjacent church, the home is an example of simple, elegant design of the mid-19th century.

The history of the home is long and varied, serving as a family home for generations, and later as a dance studio and store. Perfectly suited for providing a home away from home to travelers and tourists visiting the Poconos, it has served as a Bed and Breakfast since the 1990s. At long last, this beautiful home, Das Bärenhaus, is now available for families, parties, retreats, and groups to have the entire house to themselves!"
