En el siglo XVIII su advocación se cambió a la Virgen del Carmen. Es de estilo protobarroco y consta de una sola nave, cúpula semiesférica sobre la capilla mayor y camarín muy decorado con yeserías barrocas."

"Built in the 17th century dedicated to San Roque, as the patron chosen by the city in the epidemic of 1583.
In the 18th century its dedication was changed to the Virgin of Carmen. It is proto-baroque in style and consists of a single nave, a hemispherical dome over the main chapel and a dressing room highly decorated with baroque plasterwork."
