The bear print is next to the name over the front door. This is probably a residue of the school/s mascot when it was a full elementary school. From about 2004 to 2010 it was only K thru 5. But in the 30s, 40s 50s and 60s it was a full school, with athletic programs that competed against other schools in the area.
"The percentage of students achieving proficiency in math was 40-59% (which was approximately equal to the Missouri state average of 53%) for the 2009-10 school year. The percentage of students achieving proficiency in reading/language arts was 21-39% (which was lower than the Missouri state average of 54%) for the 2009-10 school year." ~ Public School Review
