HISTORY
"The general cemetery at Ilford is set amongst flat paddocks with distant rolling hills. The cemetery is entered from the centre of the western boundary through a pipe and strap iron gate hinged on two large timber posts. The fence is timber post and wire. There is a second entry to the cemetery through a standard stock gate at the south-western corner of the site.
"The graves are arranged in two main groups (sections) within which smaller family/denominational divisions exist. One of the sections (west section) is located in the western portion of the site and contains graves from 1871 to the present. Graves in this section mostly face east, though a few face north and west. The other section (east section), believed to be Catholic, is located in the south-eastern corner of the cemetery and contains approximately 25 monuments which generally face - south.
"The vegetation within the cemetery enclosure consists of native grasses and regenerating bushland. Three small native trees grow along the western fence line." [ex- Australian Heritage Database: (
