Este templo, construido en el siglo XVI sobre los restos de la fortaleza árabe, es obra de Diego de Siloé. De estilo gótico renacentista, se trata de un edificio rectangular, de una sola nave que alberga en su interior el Centro de Interpretación de la última frontera de Al-Andalus «El Centinela», un museo interactivo que analiza la última frontera de Al-Andalus desde la perspectiva del Poniente Granadino. El mirador regala una perspectiva distinta del pueblo con las iglesias de la Encarnación y de San Antonio en línea recta.
