En el Paseo Marítimo Rey Balduino podemos ver este mosaico que representa toda la costa de Motril, también llamada costa tropical debido a su microclima.
Motril tiene una playa larga, de casi 1km y medio, con una anchura de más de 50m. Está formada por arena gruesa y sus aguas son normalmente tranquilas. En sus aguas limpias y profundas abunda la pesca, por lo que es muy frecuentada por submarinistas y los amantes de otros deportes náuticos.
