This small chapel is one of the four Catholic temples in the small village of Alcoutim, in Southern Portugal

This chapel was apparently built in the 16th Century as there is an inscription in stone with a date in that century. Also there are documents dated 1566 with a reference to the chapel.
It was very damaged with the floods of 1876. Actually there is a water level mark on the wall of the chapel.
