A Syren Bell on the north bounds of Glastonbury Tor. This bell also known as the Bridey Bell.
On Stone Down Lane (unmarked) and the entrance to the foot of Glastonbury Tor is the Bridey Bell, a modern standing stone that marks the life of St Brigit and her time spent in the area.
Twenty-five years ago, two artists were commissioned to create a community sculpture project tracking the pilgrimage route between Wells and Glastonbury. The project was named ‘Syrens’ and features nine large limestone waymarkers with bronze ‘bells’ inset. This is the last bell in the series (Syren VIII).
Don't forget to collect a pebble to ring the bell.
