"The Marquises of Estepa founded the convent in 1599, the year in which one of their daughters went into cloister.

The temple was founded later, in 1621, and inside we highlight its 17th century mural painting and the main altarpiece, in the Solomonic baroque style. Following the conventual scheme, it has a single nave covered with a half-barrel vault and a half-orange dome in the antepresbytery.

It has two entrances from the outside: one from the street and the other from the convent patio. In the first of them, we find a representation of Santa Clara, accompanied by heraldry of the Marquisate of Estepa and the Fernández de Córdoba, as well as one belonging to the Franciscan order at the top.

Regarding the convent, sometimes there are parts that can be visited, such as the old bedrooms or kitchen, and the hall with cross vaults.

The Poor Clares, in addition to dedicating themselves to contemplation, make some delicious sweets, and none could be highlighted since they are all special: the tocinillos, the bienmesabe, the almond curd, the crosses,... and a long etcetera that we recommend trying. "
