"The first Church of the Immaculate Conception was completely destroyed due to the earthquake on Christmas Day in 1884, so the Church we see today was ordered to be built by General Narvaez at the end of the 19th century.
But the most curious thing about the history of the Church is that it was built thanks to money from Cuba, like almost all of the new part of the town, since at that time, Cuba was a Spanish colony.
The Patron Saint Festivals in Zafarraya are in honor of its patron saint, Our Lady of Monsalud, a festival that is celebrated in the month of September.
This festival is also known as the Big Festival."
