Ordnance QF (Quick-firing) 25 Pounder field artillery gun located at the Georgetown War Memorial. This is the second of two 25 Pounder field guns located in Remembrance Park. They act as symbolic sentinels to the Georgetown War Memorial.
This piece of artillery saw extensive use by the Canadian Army and other allied forces during World War II and Korea.
The gun was manufactured in Canada, and was noted for its sturdiness and reliability. It remained in service until phased out by the new 105mm Howitzers.
Of note is the inclusion of the repositioning ring. This allowed for rapid repositioning of the gun during operations.
