In 1910, this snooker parlour was built by “Doc” Mendenhall and Robert Hatfield in the village of Barons in southern Alberta. It was moved to Calgary's Heritage Park Historical Village in 1969: tables, cues, balls, and all! Like many other Alberta pool halls of the time, it was also a barber shop, with just one chair.

After several months of restoration, and the acquisition of an appropriate antique barber’s chair, Heritage Park opened the three-table snooker parlour to the public in June 1970. The ceremonial first game was between the building’s donor, Reg F. Jennings, and Mervin “Red” Dutton. (visit link) Today, you can still play snooker in this century-old building.
