“Maricopa Wild Horses,” is a city-wide sculpture project and arts initiative by City Manager Rick Horst and was unveiled at City Hall. Sculptures of horses decorated by local artists were presented to the public.

This sculpture by artist Diane Cornish, titled “Maricopa Ties,” measures 51? tall and 84? long. The horse is white with a blue tail and blue banding around its front and rear. A sahuaro cactus and desert rattlesnake on its left body and a brown rope that wraps around the horse. There is a placard on the left rear that says “Reflect.” The base of the statue is ocean blue and covered with starfish, seashells, fish, and an octopus.
