Built in 1865 for the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney it is was the first bank in Bega and the first two-storey building. The building of simple mid Victorian Colonial design of 3 bays originally having a ground floor verandah (now removed) and a first floor balcony. The facade features a central entrance door with fanlight flanked by a large window either side containing 6 panes of glass . The first floor has 3 identical pairs of French windows opening on to the balcony.
The building has been vandallised with windows broken and boarded up.
