Ship model of the German research vessel FS Meteor in the entrance area of the Geomatikum at the University of Hamburg.
The ship model on display at the Geomatikum of the University of Hamburg is the third ship named FS (research ship) Meteor.
It was commissioned in 1986 and is used worldwide in the fields of marine geology, oceanography, maritime biology, marine chemistry and ecology.
The M11/4 campaign took the ship from Argentina to the Antarctic Peninsula in the winter of 1989/1990, where various measurements were taken.
