BRONZE CAP SET FLUSH IN SIDEWALK IN MAY, 1982. MONUMENT IS LOCATED ON NORTH SIDE OF KING STREET (HWY 2) APPROXIMATELY 0.45KM EAST OF EDWARD STREET TOWN OF PRESCOTT NEAR FORT WELLINGTON. SITUATED 7.1M NORTH OF C/L OF KING STREET (HWY 2), 2.1M SE'LY OF HYDRO POLE, AND 22.68M SW'LY OF HISTORICAL PLAQUE TO COL. EDWARD JESSUP.
This provincial Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) control survey disk is in the sidewalk on the north side of King Street, old highway 2. In the 1980s, this was a major provincial highway. It is interesting that sidewalk from the 1970s and ‘80s has not yet been replaced. The referenced hydro pole, fire hydrant and historical plaque are still in situ. I have added the COSINE reference sketch to the View Gallery.
