This plaque located just off the road at the rear of Ysbyty Gwynedd commemorates The official opening on the hospital helipad by the then Secretary of state for Wales William Hague MP in 1997.

The plaque is bilingual and is affixed to a large stone near the entrance to the helipad.

The text on the plaque reads:

Y GWIR ANRHYDEDDUS WILLIAM HAGUE, AS YSGRIFENNYDD GWLADOL CYMRU AR IONAWR 8FED 1997

THIS PLAQUE WAS UNVEILED TO MARK THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW HELIPAD BY THE RIGHT HONOURABLE WILLIAM HAGUE, MP SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WALES ON 8TH JANUARY 1997

The helipad is used by the Welsh air ambulance service and the helicopter rescue service.
