This dedicated tree, a Hard Maple, is just one of many across the country planted for this Bicentennial celebrations. There are trees in Washington Heights (DC) and in Canton (MO) and all throughout the east. The post office even got into the act and printed a complete set of 1932 stamps to honor Washington. Oh, the bees? They named a new species of bee after George in 1932.
