Archommage is a steel oval on its side placed before three splayed slabs of wood or stone that intersect it. The sculpture is set directly on the ground. The oval is more eye-shaped, and some local residents refer to it as "Shaw's Eye".
Artist Ernest Shaw created this particular work in 1981. Mr. Shaw is a painter and sculptor from Kingston, New York. His work appears throughout the City of Allentown where Mr. Shaw has numerous pieces sited in the parks. Mr. Shaw has exhibited his works at the Allentown Art Museum and Cedar Crest College, as well as, throughout the country from Maine to Georgia and in between.
