A plaque hangs in front of the establishment and notes a superlative and reads:

Dedicated on February 13, 1993, by the

This building is listed as contributing building No. 21 as part of the Ferndale Downtown Historic District and listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It was erected in 1902 and opened as Mike Donnelly's Palace Saloon on the lower floor. During Prohibition, the store operated briefly as a restaurant using the same name. In 1960, the Dusinas opened a modern liquor store in the building that operated in conjunction with the bar. Inside, the original bar and much of the ornate interior woodwork can still be seen.
