The door handle to the Maritime Museum is of course designed as an anchor.
Since it is a double door, there are naturally 2 identical anchors. But certainly unique and you immediately sense that they are made by an artist.
They look very massive and heavy, about 10 cm in size. At first glance I think most of them are made of bronze as they are patinated.
The expression is a strong anchor around which there is also twisted rope. The anchor hangs on a small hook.
Aland's Maritime Museum opened in 1954 and is located in Mariehamn. The museum owns the world's largest fleet of wooden sailing ships. The main exhibit is a four-masted barque called the Pomeranian, built in Glasgow in 1903 and moored behind the museum.
The museum also has a library about seafaring
