A two storey English bond painted brick hotel having hipped iron roof and several wings, constructed c1870 with the opening of the railway from Newcastle.The front section has a projecting bay and two storey bullnosed roofed verandah with triple arched main entrance below and French windows above, and cast iron brackets and balustrade
