MAPLEWOOD CEMETERY Maplewood Cemetery is in Ravalli County, Montana. Stevensville is known where "Montana Began" with the first permanent settlement at St. Mary's Mission in 1841.

Maplewood Cemetery is approximately 4 acres in size with tall trees throughout the cemetery. This is one of the more interesting cemeteries to visit as there are several zinc grave markers, some graves of the first pioneers to settle this area.

There are 937 known interments with the earliest dating back to 1893.
Among the many zinc headstones located in the Maplewood cemetery there is one for Dudley and William Bass . It is nicely preserved and is one of larger ones in the cemetery. It is about 5 feet or so tall, quite adorned and sits on a concrete base. Bass is inscribed at the base of the headstone.
