Sjökvarteret is Aland's maritime craft center with a museum, handicrafts and shipbuilding. Most of the buildings are red wooden houses.
It is also a harbor with traditional schooners and wooden boats. Here there is both a Ship and Boat Building Museum and a new Marine Engine Museum with exhibitions of older boat engines.
There is also a restaurant in the area, so you can get something to eat. It is a really pleasant area to visit as a tourist.
