About 1 p.m. Sunday witnesses saw a plane in distress and hoped everyone would be OK after it crashed due to loss of power. The plane crashed on the east side of Broadway extension, just south of I-44, north of 50th Street. The pilot was the only occupant, and is listed in critical condition.
