De første danske Leopard 1-kampvogne blev leveret til det danske forsvar i perioden 1976-1978. det var 120 stk i alt. I 1991 ankom yderligere 110 stk.
Kampvognen er udlånt af Dansk Hærhistoriske Museer under Værnfælles Forsvarskommando, og den er delvist demilitariseret. Fladvognen, kampvognen står på er leveret af det tyske firma Linke-Hofmann i 1971 til Hærens Materiel Kommando. Bygget til særligt tunge transporter.
Alle Leopard 1-kampvogne blev udfaset i 2005. I dag bliver de igen taget i brug da størstedelen af dem sendes til Ukraine i et forsvar mod Ruslands invasion.

The first Danish Leopard 1 tanks were delivered to the Danish defense in the period 1976-1978. it was 120 pieces in total. In 1991, another 110 units arrived.
The tank is on loan from the Danish Army Historical Museum under Værnfælles Forsvarskommando, and it is partially demilitarized. The flatbed vehicle the tank stands on was delivered by the German company Linke-Hofmann in 1971 to the Army's Materiel Command. Built for particularly heavy transports.
All Leopard 1 tanks were phased out in 2005. Today they are being put back into service as the majority of them are being sent to Ukraine in defense against Russia's invasion.
