"Le Château du Nideck est un vestige de l'époque moyenâgeus, composé en fait de deux châteaux nettement distincts qui sont le résultat d'un partage familial dont une charte datant de 1336 serait le seul témoignage. Les deux châteaux du site occupent l’extrémité d’une crête de 534 mètres d’altitude qui domine la vallée de la Hasel. Celui du haut présente un fossé et un mur-bouclier à l'attaque. Son habitat très réduit est mal conservé. Celui du bas montre un donjon carré qui protège un logis exigu. Cet établissement bas date du milieu du XIII` siècle, alors que l'autre semble plus tardif, du début du XIVe siècle.
Le panneau d'altitude est situé en bas du sentier menant au château supérieur et à la base du donjon du château bas."

"The Château du Nideck is a vestige of the Middle Ages, made up in fact of two clearly distinct castles which are the result of a family sharing of which a charter dating from 1336 would be the only testimony. The two castles of the site occupy the end of a ridge 534 meters above sea level which dominates the valley of the Hasel. The upper one has a ditch and a wall-shield at the attack. Its very reduced habitat is poorly preserved. The lower one shows a square keep which protects a cramped dwelling.This low building dates from the middle of the 13th century, while the other seems later, from the beginning of the 14th century.
The elevation sign is located at the bottom of the trail to the Upper Castle and the base of the Lower Castle Keep."
