The azimuth mark is located about 0.53 miles to the south of station HAWK (OU0398). It is about 30 feet to the east of the centerline of Hoadley Road (not to the west of the road, as the NGS description indicates), and is set in the top of a square concrete post that projects about 8 inches above the ground.
Azimuth Condition: Good

Your Directions:
-If approaching from the north on State Highway 59 (from Gillette), turn east onto Haight Road at N44 01.685 W105 27.900, then turn south onto Hilight Road at N44 01.740 W105 24.880. Pass by the workings of the Cordero Rojo Mine to the east, and then turn onto Hoadley Road at N43 57.380 W105 22.917. Drive eastward for about 2 miles to a sharp turn in the road, then southward for about 1.43 miles to the azimuth mark on the east side of the road. -If approaching from the south on State Highway 59 (from Wright), turn east onto Wagensen Road at N43 55.865 W105 26.808 and drive to the intersection of Wagensen and Hilight Roads. Cross Hilight Road and continue east of Lawver Road (Wagensen changes to Lawver at the intersection with Hilight). Cross a bridge over the railroad tracks and turn left (northeast) onto Hoadley Road immediately after crossing the bridge. Drive northward on Hoadley Road for about 1.87 miles to the azimuth mark on the east side of the road.
