Running from Hester Street to Monroe, the Native Plant Corridor includes art, topiaries, sitting areas, and a pollinator hotel. This was all established in 2016 and made possible with the help of a Sustainability Green Student Initiative grant. OSU has been awarded several certificates for the Native Corridor Support and has included initiatives to create a Monarch butterfly Waystation and Oklahoma Wildscape.
The Pollinator hotel provides materials for pollinators including bees, butterflies, dragonflies and other insects to create living areas with shelter from the elements. The roof of each Pollinator hotel is covered with succulents and Oklahoma native plants with a waterproof cover to protect the nesting materials. Each hotel provides a variety of materials for various pollinators to nest including bricks, straw, twigs, reeds, bamboo, and cardboard. All of these provide various sized holes and crevices for a variety of pollinators.
