In front of the Evangelical Church in Bistrita is a Biblioteca Stradala (Street Library). The cupboard has four shelves and is filled with several books, mostly in Romanian language of course. The are some rules noted on the outside:

Regulations

  1. If you have books in your personal library that you would like to share, a donation is welcome.
  2. Use of books is free, return is mandatory
  3. Books should be treated with care... and so should the library.
  4. The library program is NON-STOP.
  5. Choose your book, read it, return it.
  6. In exchange for the borrowed book you can leave another book until the return.
  7. There is no fixed return date, it will be honestly appreciated by each reader.
  8. By keeping the borrowed books in good condition you give them to others to enjoy.

"Think before you speak.
Read before you think.
"
Frances Ann Lebowitz

There is a Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Bistrita, a logo of "Poarta Transilvaniei Bistrita" and a Lions International logo. Close to the cupboard are several benches, so one can sit down and read for a while.
