In front of the Evangelical Church in Bistrita is a Biblioteca Stradala
(Street Library). The cupboard has four shelves and is filled with several
books, mostly in Romanian language of course. The are some rules noted on the
outside:
Regulations
- If you have books in your personal library that you
would like to share, a donation is welcome.
- Use of books is free, return is mandatory
- Books should be treated with care... and so should
the library.
- The library program is NON-STOP.
- Choose your book, read it, return it.
- In exchange for the borrowed book you can leave
another book until the return.
- There is no fixed return date, it will be honestly
appreciated by each reader.
- By keeping the borrowed books in good condition you
give them to others to enjoy.
"Think before you speak.
Read before you think."

There is a Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Bistrita, a logo of
"Poarta Transilvaniei Bistrita" and a Lions International logo. Close to the
cupboard are several benches, so one can sit down and read for a while.
