Henry R. McCarty was but fifty-three years of age at the time of his death. He was survived by his wife Ellen, who died just two years later and is interred beside him. They had at least one child, who died in infancy. His Woodmen of the World grave marker is styled as a vertical tree trunk with cut branches, set on a base of four cut logs that are adorned with leaves and ivy.
