We’ve all seen the various artfully painted metal utility boxes around Las Vegas. They offer a much-needed visual break to the tedious wait at stop lights. They can be whimsical, thought provoking, or just colorful images, but they are always a site for road blurry eyes.
All are hand-painted by the artists. None are vinyl wrapped. The project's whimsical name is tied to the electrical nature of utility boxes.
Susanne said “As children in NYC we played cops and robbers or sidewalk games until it got dark and our mothers hauled us in. In the summer we played in the fire hydrants spray. I miss seeing life in the streets, so I supplied the illusion of it.”
The box art shows rambling colors and strokes of red, blue, black, white with what looks like a pair of eyes peeking over the top of another set of eyes.
