The grand building is owned by the 'longest established funeral home in Queensland', Tucker and Nankivell, who were established in 1863. Their website doesn't state when they occupied this building though. The styling is more of being designed as a hotel, with a verandah to the street and decorative cast iron railing on both floors, with louvres to the enclosed first floor. The two storey cement rendered brick structure, is symmetrical in layout with corrugated iron covered twin gables framing bay windows running full height through the two floors and penetrating the roof of the upper verandah. It was built as a residence/surgery for Dr H E Brown in 1892. But now occupied by this funeral home.
