The Sheriff's Department is responsible for providing the protection of citizens, the enforcement of laws, and crime prevention. Law enforcement services include patrol, traffic enforcement, accident analysis and investigation, parking enforcement, general and special investigations, and the Community Support Unit.

Crime Stoppers allows citizens to anonymously report potential criminal activity by phone, web, or text. Tips that lead to an arrest are subject to a reward of up to $1,000.

Safe Exchange Zone
Lake Forest is now home to a Safe Exchange Zone. Look for parking spaces marked with green stripes and signs at the OC Sheriff’s Department Substation, 20202 Windrow Dr, Lake Forest, CA 92630 The parking spots are under 24-hour video surveillance and can be utilized for child custody exchanges and e-commerce transactions."

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
